Schon 2018 wurden durch Wilson J.E.M. Costa unter dem Original Titel: Three new species of the killifish genus Melanorivulus from the Rio Paraná Basin, central Brazilian Cerrado (Cyprinodontiformes, Aplocheilidae), 3 neue Arten der Killifisch-Gattung Melanorivulus neu beschrieben.
Es handelt sich um folgende Arten:
Melanorivulus proximus Costa, 2018
Melanorivulus nigromarginatus Costa, 2018
Melanorivulus linearis Costa, 2018
